Steven Haines and John Hills are your newly minted Over 40 Pairs State Champions. The pairs team continued their fine form after winning the local regional event in the Illawarra beating Daniel Jessup & Craig John Donaldson (Tuncurry Beach) 17/12. Crucial bowls were played by the Woonona team in the last 4  ends to secure victory. The defending champions needed a 5 to win, or 4 on the last to force an extra end which proved too difficult.

No team is complete without good support and the Woonona Team had plenty of that with many a cheers and clap heard from the sidelines egging them on! A group of family and friends travelled to Yamba to spur on their team to a victory!
